Często zadawane pytania
How does the inflation calculator work?
It divides your amount by the cumulative inflation factor between the start and end year, using the annual CPI figures published by Poland’s statistics office (GUS). The result shows how much purchasing power the money has lost — how much today’s złoty equals the past amount.
What is purchasing power?
Purchasing power is how much you can actually buy with a given amount. When prices rise, the same nominal amount buys less — so PLN 10,000 from 2020 is worth less in real terms today.
Where does the 2026 figure come from?
GUS data covers years up to 2025. The 2026 figure is based on the National Bank of Poland (NBP) inflation projection and is marked as a forecast.
How can I protect savings from inflation?
Keeping cash in a zero-interest account guarantees a real loss. Deposits, inflation-indexed Treasury bonds and other interest-bearing products help offset inflation — compare the after-tax return against the inflation rate.
