ZEN Business account in Poland: fees, currencies and who it fits

ZEN Business is a multi-currency business account from fintech ZEN.COM: IBAN in 28 currencies, Mastercard cards with up to 15% cashback and currency exchange at ZEN Rate +0.50% (SMART plan, 0 PLN monthly promotional) or +0.00% (ENTERPRISE, 9.99 PLN monthly promotional). Incoming SEPA is free, SEPA Instant takes about 10 seconds, and cash works via Planet Cash. ZEN is an electronic money institution supervised by the Bank of Lithuania, not a bank: funds are safeguarded on segregated accounts but not covered by the BFG deposit guarantee.

For companies invoicing in euros, dollars or pounds, the strongest parts of ZEN Business are the 28-currency IBAN and near-interbank exchange rates. Here is what the two plans cost per the May 2026 price list, where SWIFT fees can bite, and how the EMI licence differs from a bank account, written for foreign founders and e-commerce sellers operating in Poland.

Currencies and transfers: where ZEN wins

The core strength is the currency setup. Exchange happens at ZEN Rate (based on the mid-market rate with ZEN margin built in) plus 0.50% on SMART or 0.00% on ENTERPRISE, with an extra 0.40% outside market hours on SMART. Incoming SEPA transfers are free on both plans, domestic Elixir and Express Elixir transfers are free, and SEPA Instant delivers in about 10 seconds, 7 days a week. For companies paying suppliers outside the EU, SWIFT is the weak spot of the SMART plan at 0.1% + 70 PLN per SHA transfer; frequent SWIFT users should calculate whether ENTERPRISE (0.1% + 14 PLN) pays for itself.

Since August 2026 ZEN also handles cash: deposits and withdrawals at Planet Cash machines in Poland, EUR cash deposits in Poland, and deposits at about 22 thousand Ria Money Transfer points across Europe. Details in our note on ZEN cash deposits.

EMI, not a bank: what that means for your company

ZEN.COM operates as an electronic money institution (EMI) licensed by the Bank of Lithuania (licence LB000457) with an EEA passport. Client funds sit on segregated safeguarding accounts, separate from the company assets, but there is no BFG deposit guarantee that covers bank deposits up to 100,000 EUR. A sensible split for most companies: operating flows, currency exchange and cards in ZEN, larger cash reserves in a bank. In April 2026 the ZEN group also acquired Ukrainian PIN Bank, its first full banking licence, and announced Poland-Ukraine payment corridors, which matters if you settle with Ukrainian contractors.

Who owns ZEN.COM?

ZEN.COM was founded in 2018 by Dawid Rozek, co-founder of G2A. The operating company UAB ZEN.COM is based in Vilnius and holds an EMI licence from the Bank of Lithuania; in April 2026 the group also acquired Ukrainian PIN Bank, its first full banking licence.

ZEN vs Revolut Business: what is the key difference?

The licence. Revolut operates in Poland as a bank (Lithuanian banking licence, deposit guarantee up to 100,000 EUR), while ZEN is an EMI with safeguarding instead of a deposit guarantee. ZEN counters with its cashback program, 28-currency IBAN and cash handling via Planet Cash.

Does ZEN Business work for e-commerce?

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a foreign-owned company open a ZEN Business account in Poland?

Yes. ZEN onboards companies from many jurisdictions and the supported-country list is checked during the application. The most common rejection reasons are an unsupported business model, an unsupported country of registration or no real operating activity. Onboarding is fully online with standard KYC documents.

Is my company money safe in ZEN if it is not a bank?

Can I deposit cash into a ZEN business account?

Yes. In Poland cash deposits and withdrawals work through the Planet Cash network, and since August 2026 ZEN also supports EUR cash deposits in Poland and deposits at about 22 thousand Ria Money Transfer points across Europe. ATM withdrawals are free up to 900 PLN per month on SMART and 6750 PLN on ENTERPRISE, then 2%.
